Job Description

He/She Inventory Personnel is responsible for managing and controlling stock (food, beverages, linens, cleaning materials, and other hotel supplies). The role ensures that all items are properly recorded, stored, issued, and replenished in line with the hotel’s operational needs and financial policies.

Responsibilities

• Stock Management
• Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of hotel supplies.
• Organize and store items in a clean, secure, and accessible manner.
• Conduct daily/weekly stock counts and reconcile with records.
• Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out).
• Issuing & Distribution
• Issue requested items to departments (kitchen, housekeeping, bar, etc.).
• Maintain accurate records of stock issued against approved requisitions.
• Monitor consumption patterns to avoid shortages or excesses.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain updated stock registers and inventory software.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
• Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately to management.
• Compliance & Control
• Ensure storage areas follow hygiene, safety, and security standards.
• Prevent theft, misuse, or wastage of supplies.
• Assist with internal and external audits of stock.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with the purchasing and accounts department to raise requisitions.
• Coordinate with department heads for timely supply of needed items.
• Support cost control initiatives and efficient resource use.

Requirements

• OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Logistics, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of inventory storekeeping experience (hospitality industry preferred).
• Strong knowledge of stock control systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
• Integrity, honesty, and reliability.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle physical stock.
